Upper floors are accessible via a lift. Catering and refreshments can be included and there is an on site cafe operating 9-4 Monday - Saturday. Our garden can be used as part of your visit to add fresh air and a vibrant dimension to your activities.

Activities and Functions
The Big Local is the perfect space for a birthday party, celebration, social occasion or to book space to run an activity.
The ground floor and garden can be booked for private hire when not in use as a cafe. With flexible setups and a versatile approach, it's the perfect space for many occasions. We can provide a pay bar, buffet or catering options & you're welcome to organise your own music or entertainment.

1st Floor Activity Room
The activity room is a large open plan space on our 1st floor. At almost 90 square metres the room offers versatile space for a range of different activities. The space can be configured to suit your needs, from theatre style seating to empty spaces for parties!
Things to note: The room is on the same floor as accessible toilets and is accessible via a lift.
Co-working
Whitley Bay Big Local offers a small co-working space designed to meet the needs of freelancers, entrepreneurs, and professionals seeking a vibrant, collaborative environment.
Our co-working space, open 5 days per week, 8:30-5, provides a comfortable and flexible work area from just £6 per day.
Enjoy access to high-speed internet, access to quiet spaces and the added benefit of a lively community atmosphere that fosters networking and innovation.
The space is ideal for those looking for an escape from the isolation of home offices or the distractions of our warm and friendly community cafe. With our affordable rates, starting at just £6 per session our co-working space presents an excellent opportunity for productivity and growth in a supportive setting.
